We need to find a solution that allows for multiple assessments of the same location (using the same assessment template) to exist together. Until then, to stop another LA from creating a report for the same location, publishing it, which then 'overwrites' an existing assessment for a shared service in progress including stopping the action plan, can we have a notification when we download the assessment that an assessment is already underway by another LA for the same service so that officers can liaise more effectively?
Customer Challenge
Currently, when a service has received an assessment and they are working through an action plan, if another LA starts and publishes an assessment for the same location it overwrites the previously published report and action plan. |

Business Case
This has been an ongoing problem for some time. HAS technology promised to remedy the situation, but unfortunately misunderstood the problem and only allowed an assessment using a different template (i.e. Accommodation and Community) to exist together. There are very limited services that provide residential services and home care service, so this did not rectify the issue. Having a notification that alerts people to the fact that an assessment is in progress at the time of creating the template would allow the LA to contact the other LA progressing the assessment and use their report rather than waste resource. |
